Finding the Fun in Connecticut
Honoring & Remembering
A Memorial Day Weekend spent in Connecticut celebrating freedom, reflection, and lifelong friendships.
Cherishing Every Moment: Our Family Holiday in Connecticut.
Long before this Memorial Day weekend arrived, our close group of friends and families had already mapped it out. Because everyone was off from work, it served as the perfect opportunity for us to gather and reconnect. Although we routinely get together on holidays, it never feels tiring; when we are with this crew, the conversations and laughter are truly endless. It is always a welcome relief from the hectic routines of our daily home and work lives.
We chose Connecticut for this particular getaway because it was a short, convenient drive for everyone and offered an incredible variety of attractions to choose from. Having a great water park right nearby was the ultimate bonus. Between the easy travel time and the endless options for entertainment, it truly turned out to be the perfect holiday escape for us.
Covered Bridge
It’s the most heavily visited and recognizable walking path bridge in the park.
Main Trail
It is a very popular, scenic 1.5-mile walk (one-way) that follows wide, easy-to-walk carriage roads.
Orange Blazes
They are marking the park's Main Trail (frequently just referred to as the Orange Trail).

Reflections on a Perfect Holiday Weekend
Our Memorial Day Weekend getaway got off to a slightly frustrating start when the gloomy weather refused to cooperate with our plans. Our hearts were set on the water park, and missing out on it was a disappointment, but we found comfort in knowing that our tickets are reusable for our next visit. True to our group's spirit, we didn't let the rain ruin our energy; we adapted, pivoted, and found ways to turn things around to ensure everyone still had an amazing time together.
By the final day, our luck completely changed, and the trip did not disappoint. We packed the day with adventure, exploring two incredible local attractions, taking in the beautiful panoramic sights, and enjoying a scenic walk along the nature trails. We wrapped up the wonderful weekend by gathering around the table with our family and lifelong friends for a late lunch at the buffet. More than any of the sightseeing or activities, the true highlight of the entire trip was simply being together, sharing endless laughs, and keeping our traditions alive.
