The Kartrite Kids Adventure

Splashes, smiles, and unforgettable luxury family memories inside New York's biggest indoor waterpark.

An Unforgettable Escape to the Catskills

Bringing the kids to The Kartrite water park was the perfect decision for some much-needed family bonding. It had been a long time since Matthew was last in a pool, so I couldn't wait to see him back in the water. Plus, since Luke has really started to love swimming lately, I knew he would absolutely adore it. To make it even better, we timed it perfectly to celebrate Cherry's birthday and Mother's Day. It truly was the perfect moment.

Kids playing at resort pool

Staying on the first floor made it incredibly easy to head straight from our room to the water park without having to navigate elevators or long hallways with the kids. It was the perfect setup for a seamless weekend, allowing us to maximize our time splashing in the pools and celebrating Cherry's birthday. Plus, having such quick access meant we could easily pop back to the room whenever someone needed a quick break or a change of clothes.

Birthday & mother's day celebration

This entire vlog is dedicated to the boys' unforgettable adventures in the water! It had been a long time since Matthew was last in a pool, but he jumped right back in and completely fell in love with the Lazy River. Meanwhile, Luke's current love for swimming was on full display, he had the absolute best time steering the paddle ducks by the fountains and the Kartrite island walking to the hanging and shakey bridge. Seeing their pure joy and endless smiles made this the ultimate celebration for Cherry's birthday and Mother's Day."

09:00 AM — MORNING BASECAMP

Breakfast & Organization

We started the day with the food we had saved up early for the kids. Cherry grabbed a coffee and some bread from the hotel coffee shop, while I just had a piece of bread to fuel up.

12:30 PM — MOTHER'S DAY LUNCH

Mexican Feast & Recharge

I headed out to pick up a delicious lunch from a local Mexican restaurant to celebrate Mother's day. After filling up on great food, the whole family took a well-deserved afternoon nap to prep for round two at the pools.

04:00 PM — THE RETURN

One Last Splash

We headed back into the glass dome at 4:00 PM for another epic session in the waterpark. The boys maximized every minute of swimming and splashing right up until 6:45 PM, just before the park closed its doors for the evening.

08:00 PM — RETURNING TO BASECAMP

Dinner & Lights Out

After wrapping up at the waterpark, we headed straight back to the comfort of our room. We had a relaxing dinner together in the suite, and it didn't take long for the completely exhausted kids to head straight to bed and drift off to sleep.

The Honest Breakdown

As parents, we absolutely loved the waterpark. Safety is always our top priority, and it was reassuring to see that the lifeguards were highly attentive and constantly on the lookout. The entire environment felt safe, comfortably warm, and never overcrowded. There were virtually no lines to wait in, and although the space is on the smaller side, it accommodates everyone perfectly. However, the main downside was the upkeep; there didn’t seem to be enough attendants around to clear away used towels, leftover food, or trash from the tables. Additionally, the dining options inside the waterpark itself were quite limited.

Kids playing at resort pool

While we were exploring, we noticed that the restaurants and bars outside the waterpark were surprisingly empty, and even the arcades only had a handful of people playing. This could be because the indoor waterpark itself is only open from Thursday to Sunday. For anyone planning a trip, I highly recommend contacting the resort directly to verify their current operating hours before booking—that way, you know exactly what to expect and can plan your itinerary perfectly.

Morning Fuel & Packing Up

We woke up early and had our breakfast right in the room to fuel up for the trip home. Since morning dining options at the hotel were pretty limited, we made perfect use of the extra food we had saved from the night before to feed the kids, while Cherry and I finished up the rest. After eating, we packed our bags and cleared out the suite.

10:00 AM — FAREWELL

Leaving the Lodge

Bags packed, car loaded, and checking out right at 10:00 AM. We officially said goodbye to the Catskills, heading back home with unforgettable family memories, tired kids, and a successful birthday weekend in the books!
